Service Technician (ST)

As a Blue Moon Service Technician, you provide rapid response to residential and commercial emergencies involving water, fire, or other structural and content damage. Your role, as a Service Technician, is to stabilize the structure and contents, and then begin the cleaning & restoration process. Learn More.

Crew Foreman (CF)

As a Crew Foreman, you provide leadership to a crew of Service Technicians responding to residential and commercial emergencies involving water, fire, mold, or other structural and content damage. Must have demonstrated experience in water and/or fire damage restoration. IICRC Certification in water and/or fire damage restoration is required. Must have a valid CA Driver's License with a good driving record. Learn More.  

Marketing & Sales Manager (MSM)

Our company is expanding, and we're searching for the right person to help facilitate that expansion by securing new client accounts, maintaining good client relations, and helping to oversee the company's marketing, sales, and social media campaigns in print and online applications. As a Project Estimator for Blue Moon, you are charged with providing good, reliable estimates of cost, price, materials, and project conditions. Blue Moon is currently expanding and seeking to hire dedicated and qualified service technicians to join Blue Moon's dynamic and growing team. If you have experience in fire damage restoration, water damage restoration, mold remediation, smoke and odor removal, or trauma scene cleanup for residential and/or commercial settings, we'd like to talk to you.

 

Blue Moon Seeks To Hire Someone With The Following Traits: 

IICRC-Certification preferred but not required and we will train you. 

  • GREAT Attitude, Self-Motivated, and Trainable 
  • Capable of working unsupervised
  • Strong Work ethic, Detail Oriented, Professional Appearance, Customer Service Oriented
  • Must be able to work in all types of conditions (hot, cold, wet and dusty)
  • Clean DMV MVR (Motor Vehicle Record) with valid operators license
  • Able to pass a pulmonary test for proper air respiratory fit
  • Experience with Microbial / Mold Remediation, Media Blasting, Containment Construction, Sewage Clean Up, Structural Drying, 24 Hour Emergency Service and experience using Thermal Imaging a plus.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Must be able to work Monday through Friday and on-call hours (evenings and weekends) as determined by business necessity.
  • Must reside within a reasonable distance of Blue Moon’s North Hollywood/Burbank unit location.


Typical duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Responding quickly to emergencies such as water, fire, and smoke damage.
  • Identifying scope of work, measuring and sketching out all affected areas and employing industry standard restoration techniques.
  • Extracting water from flooded structures using commercial extraction equipment.
  • Performing demolition including removing damaged or wet building materials such as carpet, pad, baseboard, cabinets, drywall, etc.
  • Taking accurate moisture readings and properly setting up commercial drying equipment to minimize drying time.
  • Cleaning and  maintaining proprietary equipment as needed
  • Performing routine janitorial and maintenance-related services.


· IICRC Certified is a PLUS but not a requirement
-Asbestos Certification is a PLUS but not a requirement
-Carpet Cleaning Experience is a PLUS but not a requirement

-Stone and Tile Cleaning Experience is a PLUS but not a requirement
-Air Duct Cleaning Experience is a PLUS but not a requirement
-Bilingual is a PLUS, but not necessary
-MUST SPEAK ENGLISH


Salary and Compensation:

Job Type: Full-time and Part-time positions available

Salary: $15.00 to $18.00 /hour plus performance bonuses.

Flexible Work Arrangements:

By assignment means that you will accept or decline assignments as you see fit, with some restrictions of course, similar to how a subcontractor works but with the reassurance of being paid every two weeks on payroll.

  RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lead a team of Restoration Technicians
  • Explain processes and answer customer questions
  • Monitor, communicate, and respond to customer needs/concerns.
  • Communicate clear expectations to Service Technicians and supervise their activities
  • Perform production processes as scheduled and ensure quality control
  • Identify safety hazards, communicate, and establish control measures to ensure the safety of occupants and workers
  • Manage job file documentation to ensure complete and accurate project details
  • Manage and control costs of production projects
  • Manage assets by protecting and using equipment and materials properly


JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must have a minimum 2 years of experience in the Fire and Water restoration industry
  • Have a valid IICRC WRT or FSRT certification
  • Must have a professional appearance and great attitude
  • A valid CA driver license with a reasonably good driving record
  • Ability to pass a criminal background check with no felony convictions or misdemeanors      involving violence or theft
  • Because we provide 24 hour emergency services, must be willing to be on-call occasionally
  • Nights and weekend work is involved
  • Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds
  • Must have a high school diploma or a GED certificate

About Blue Moon:

We are a full service restoration company. We specialize in damages related to water, fire, smoke, mold, weather, and vandalism. We are a direct repair vendor for many insurance carriers and we service the Greater Los Angeles area. We have a 24-hour emergency service department handling water mitigation, smoke/fire mitigation, temporary shoring/fencing/power, contents, and board-up services. We are a well-established firm in the industry. Our Rapid Response Unit is seeking an individual with excellent customer service skills and ready for a long term commitment. We are looking for an honest, responsible, and reliable individual who can handle the work load of a busy Emergency Services unit.


Minimum Responsibilities and Duties

- Strong organizational skills

- Excellent communication and customer service skills

- Ability to perform physical tasks that also require the lifting/positioning of heavy objects

- Able to work 40+ hours and/or weekends

- Knowledge of construction is helpful

- Knowledge of Xactimate estimating software is helpful but not required

- Respond to properties that have sustained damages from water, fire, smoke, weather, and vandalism.

- Assess extent of damage and establish work scope

- Go over scope of work with customers and insurance company as necessary

- Acquire signature on contracts

- Perform the removal of building materials as required by industry standards

- Install mitigation equipment to limit damages and reduce liability

- Keep open lines of communication with front office and all other parties involved

- Maintain the high quality and standards of the company

- Strengthen the company's image with each customer and their insurance carrier.
